Kahoot pricing for teachers and schools (2026)

Checked on kahoot.com/schools/plans on 25 September 2026, with US dollars selected. Kahoot! Go — free; 40 per game; quiz and true/false questions, ready-made kahoots, templates and the community question bank; no AI generation. Kahoot!+ Bronze — $3 a month billed yearly ($36 a year), or $9 billed monthly; 50 players; adds AI creation from a topic, a web page, Wikipedia or a file of up to 3 pages. Kahoot!+ Silver — $7 a month billed yearly ($84 a year), or $15 billed monthly; 100 players; adds question types such as drop pin and scale, and AI creation from files of up to 150 pages. Kahoot!+ Gold — $12 a month billed yearly ($144 a year), or $25 billed monthly; 200 players; adds precision question types such as the slider, and advanced reports. Kahoot! One — $19 a month billed yearly ($228 a year), or $34.99 billed monthly; 800 players; every question type and every game experience. That day Silver, Gold and Kahoot! One also showed a crossed-out higher yearly price ($9, $15 and $25 a month), so check the page before you buy — offers change. The page says all prices include VAT.

What the free Kahoot! Go plan includes

Kahoot! Go is Kahoot's free plan for teachers. Its plan table lists 40 per game — an FAQ lower on the same page still says Go allows up to 10 per game, so test it before a big class. It includes classic live games and the "unplugged" mode for one shared screen, quiz and true/false questions of up to 120 characters, ready-made kahoots and templates, a community question bank Kahoot puts at half a billion questions, flashcards and online support. It does not include AI generation — the PDF, topic, web-page and Wikipedia generators all start on Bronze — or the other question types, such as puzzle, drop pin, scale and slider, which start on the paid plans.

Kahoot! 360 pricing for work

Kahoot sells a separate ladder to companies, priced per licence and billed yearly (kahoot.com/business/pricing, checked 25 September 2026): Pro Start $19 a month ($228 a year) for up to 50 participants; Pro Standard $25 ($300 a year) for up to 200; Pro Plus $39 ($468 a year) for up to 1,000; Pro Max $79 ($948 a year) for up to 2,000; and an introductory Pro Ultra at $79 a month for up to 5,000, with onboarding. Standard and Plus showed crossed-out higher prices ($29 and $49 a month) that day. The business page says its prices exclude VAT. A corporate trainer should compare against this ladder, not the school one.

What Kahoot costs in India

Kahoot has no India price list. Its plans pages price in US dollars by default, and the currency menu offers 11 currencies, from euros to Brazilian reais — none of them Indian. So a teacher in India pays the dollar price on an international card, and the bank adds its own foreign-exchange charges. This page does not convert Kahoot's prices into local currency: the exchange rate and bank fees move the figure, and a converted number goes stale within weeks. The dollar prices above are the ones to budget from.

Which Kahoot plan do you actually need?

Most teachers choose by class size. A class of up to 40 fits the free plan on paper; up to 50 needs Bronze; up to 100 needs Silver; up to 200 needs Gold. Bronze is cheap at $3 a month billed yearly, but it keeps the basic question types, and its AI generator reads files of only 3 pages; drop pin, scale and long-file generation start on Silver at $7. If what you need is a live quiz with a leaderboard for a class of up to 50, Bronze is the cheapest paid route — and a free tool that seats 50 a session is cheaper still.

Cheaper or free alternatives to Kahoot

If price is the problem, three free options are worth a look. The closest like-for-like swap is Quizotic. Kahoot’s free plan for teachers (Kahoot! Go) seats 40 players and offers quiz and true/false questions only; its paid school plans start at $3 a month, billed yearly (checked 25 Sep 2026). Quizotic’s free plan seats 50 players per session, with all 14 question types and AI question generation included. It also runs polls, word clouds and Q&A in the same session, and its join page is 267 KB against Kahoot's 2.85 MB (measured 12 September 2026), which matters on a shared school connection. The free plan includes 10 AI-written questions a month (20 in your first week); Pro is planned at $4.99/month (₹399/month in India) and not yet on sale. Wayground (formerly Quizizz) — 30 per live session on the free plan, with a deep community question bank; Super from about $5 a month (both checked 12 September 2026). AhaSlides — 50 per presentation on the free plan, with up to 5 quiz questions and 3 poll questions per presentation.

Where Kahoot is still the better choice

Kahoot is the best-known name in classroom quizzing, and that counts: students know the format, and colleagues share kahoots. Its community question bank — half a billion questions, by Kahoot's count — is far bigger than anything Quizotic has, so for a ready-made quiz on almost any topic, Kahoot usually has one. Its game experiences, from the classic game and the shared-screen unplugged mode to the Kahootopia rewards on paid plans, are more varied than Quizotic's leaderboard, speed bonus and team mode. And its cheapest paid plan costs less than Quizotic's planned Pro: Bronze is $3 a month billed yearly, while Quizotic Pro is planned at $4.99 a month and is not yet on sale — though Bronze seats 50, the same room Quizotic's free plan seats at no cost.
