A coaching institute's quiz tool isn't a teacher's quiz tool. The requirements are different: 200+ students per batch, multiple batches running parallel mocks, owner-level dashboards across faculty, institutional invoicing, and most critically — mastery tracking that maps to JEE/NEET exam performance. Six platforms cover Indian coaching institutes today. This piece breaks down which to pick by use case.
What coaching institutes actually need
Five hard requirements: (1) Large batches — a single session with 200–500 students, and no surprise participant limit. (2) Multi-faculty — three faculty running parallel batches, one owner dashboard rolling up performance. (3) Mock format support — full-length 180-minute mocks with sectional cutoffs, not just 10-question Kahoot rounds. (4) An invoice the accounts team accepts — for most Indian institutes, a domestic GST invoice, which Quizotic has planned for when Pro goes on sale. (5) Bloom-level or topic-level mastery — the owner needs to know "Batch A is 78% on Mechanics Apply but 52% on Modern Physics Analyze." Without this, the quiz tool is a leaderboard, not an L&D system.
Quizotic — best fit for India-first coaching
The free plan seats 50 per session with unlimited sessions, which covers a single batch. Pro seats 500 per session and is planned at $4.99/month (₹399/month in India) and not yet on sale; there is no per-seat plan, and institutes get Pro across their email domain on request instead. When Pro launches, it is planned to bill in INR with UPI and a domestic GST invoice (via Razorpay). Bloom tagging on every generated question. NCERT library for Classes 6–12 (useful for foundation batches). PYQ PDF upload → AI-generated tagged questions. Batch-wise session reports with Confidence Grid. Institution accounts, set up on request, add an admin, a seat cap and sign-in with your email domain. Strongest for foundation batches (Classes 8–10) and intermediate JEE/NEET prep. For Allen-tier final-year mocks where the volume is 200+ students × 180 minutes × adaptive scoring, the Embibe-style purpose-built systems still lead.
Embibe Pro — purpose-built for India test prep
Embibe, majority-owned by Reliance, is a full test-prep platform. For JEE/NEET specifically, Embibe Pro is purpose-built — full-length mocks, adaptive scoring and AI-driven weak-topic recommendations. Pricing is by custom contract. Strongest for established coaching chains with 1000+ students. Less suited for a small institute that just wants live revision quizzes.
Wayground (formerly Quizizz) Super — strong question bank, US-dollar pricing
Wayground, the renamed Quizizz, starts around $5/host/month on Super and gives institutes a deep India question bank — Master Decks for CBSE, JEE Foundation and NEET prep. Reports are detailed and Bloom tagging is partial. Billing is in US dollars on an international card. Kahoot — global brand, weakest India fit
Kahoot sells two ladders, both in US dollars and billed yearly (checked 25 September 2026): school plans from $3 a month (Bronze, 50 players) to $19 (Kahoot! One, 800 players), and Kahoot! 360 for organisations from $19 a month (Pro Start, up to 50 participants) to $79 (Pro Max, up to 2,000). The strongest brand recognition, but the weakest India fit for coaching institutes: no NCERT or JEE/NEET question bank of its own and no Bloom tagging. Use case: international school chains operating in India.
Mettl, Testbook white-label, others
Mettl (now part of Mercer) — strong assessment engine, enterprise-priced, best for institutes that also do certification exams. Testbook offers a white-label coaching solution for UPSC and railway exam coaching — strong for that niche, less so for JEE/NEET. Adda247 has internal tooling that's not licensable. Several smaller Indian SaaS players (Edmingle, Classplus, Teachmint) offer quiz modules as part of their LMS — useful if you're already on their platform, otherwise standalone tools are better.

On Pro, yes — up to 500 participants per session. The participant page is 267 KB, the lightest measured in this category, so the bottleneck is the institute's Wi-Fi rather than the platform. Pro is planned and not yet on sale; the free plan seats 50 per session.
Does it support full-length 180-minute mocks?
Self-paced quizzes can be set to any duration. For a full JEE/NEET-format mock with sectional cutoffs and adaptive scoring, the dedicated platforms (Embibe, Mettl) are still ahead. Quizotic is best for daily 15–30 minute quizzes and weekly chapter mocks.
Can the institute owner see all faculty's sessions?
Not yet. Each faculty member sees the full report for their own sessions, including the competency mix. A single dashboard that rolls up every faculty member's sessions is not built yet.
Can the institute pay for Quizotic today?
Not yet. There is nothing to pay today: Quizotic is free, and the planned Pro plan is not on sale yet. When it launches it will bill in INR with UPI and a domestic GST invoice in India, and in USD by card elsewhere.
Can students take the quiz from home?
Yes. Live mode requires students to be online at the same time as the host. Self-paced mode lets students take the quiz any time within a window — useful for evening homework or weekend revision drills.
