Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Browsers also offer other storage (local and session storage) that works the same way, so this page covers both. It lists everything Quizotic saves on your device, what it is for, and how long it stays. How we handle personal data in general is in our Privacy Policy.

Your choices

In the EU, the rest of the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and wherever we cannot tell where you are, analytics stay off until you press Accept all or switch them on in Cookie settings. Reject all keeps them off.
Everywhere else, analytics run by default. You can switch them off in Cookie settings at any time.
We remember your choice for 6 months in one cookie, qz_consent. The banner comes back after that, or if we add a new kind of cookie.
Joining and playing a session never shows a banner. Those pages store only what the session needs: your seat, answers waiting to be sent, the route to our servers and, on the last screen, what the optional rating card needs (listed under Session rating). If you are in one of the places above, they send no analytics at all.

Essential

Needed to sign you in, keep forms safe, hold one-time links, keep you connected to a live session and let a host carry on after a reload. Quizotic does not work without them, so they are always on.

Your settings

Remember what you chose or were building: your appearance, language, drafts, tips you dismissed. They are saved when you use the feature, stay on your device, and are not used for analytics.

Session rating

Set when the rating card appears on the last screen of a session, for hosts and for people who joined. They let us ask once, and save the stars you tap and the comment you send as one answer. The card is optional.

Referral

Analytics

Set by other services

Signing in with Google or Microsoft happens on their sites, under their cookie policies.
Videos a host adds to a presentation load from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) or Vimeo, which may set their own cookies when you press play.
Paying for a plan opens Razorpay's checkout, which may save its own cookies and browser storage under its own policy.
Cloudflare, which protects and delivers Quizotic, may set a short security cookie (named like __cf_bm, lasting up to 30 minutes) to tell people from bots, and shows its Turnstile check after repeated wrong room codes.
